More stringent security policy will apply from July 1st on Radicenter servers

A more stringent security policy will apply from July 1st. From July 1st onwards, it will be mandatory to use SSL/TLS encryption. SSL/TLS encryption is necessary to protect users data. All modern computers, smartphones and other devices and software support SSL/TLS encryption.

You probably already have SSL/TLS encryption enabled and do not need to change anything. However, to ensure seamless transition on July 1st, please check the following:

1. Check the settings of all of your e-mail accounts and switch on SSL or TLS for both incoming e-mail (POP3/IMAP) and outgoing e-mail (SMTP). Settings must be changed on all computers, smartphones and other devices which are being used to access e-mail. On computers, you will need to change settings in e-mail software like Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail etc. If you are using your mailbox in Gmail, settings must also be changed there. Specifically, you will need to turn on SSL/TLS on all devices and change port numbers if necessary. Secure port numbers are 993 for IMAP, 995 for POP3 and 465 for SMTP. If you are using Webmail, there is no need to change anything. Webmail always uses encryption.

2. When using FTP, make sure to enable SSL/TLS in your FTP software settings or change the server type to FTPS. If you are using SFTP, encryption is always enabled and there is no need to change anything.
